Free Medication Access Tier Card

To receive your Tier Drug Card:

  1. Download the card (.pdf)
  2. Write your name & member ID on the card, using the fields provided.
  3. Cut out the card. (you'll need a pair of sissors or whatever)
  4. Present the card, along with your prescription, at a participating pharmacy.

Medication Access is designed to help you save on your prescription drug costs by giving you discounts on prescriptions at more than 58,000 pharmacies nationwide. Generally, you will pay no more than $10, $25, or $50 for most generics and preferred brand drugs.* A fourth tier offers substantial discounts on additional brand-name medications.

Medication Access is not Insurance or the new Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan

Medication Access includes a comprehensive formulary, or list of covered drugs, that includes four tiers:

  • First tier: Preferred brand and generic drugs that are available to you for $10 or less for the scheduled quantity and dose.
  • Second tier: Preferred brand and generic drugs that are available to you for $25 or less for the scheduled quantity and dose.
  • Third tier: Preferred brand and generic drugs that are available to you for $50 or less for the scheduled Quantity and dose.
  • Fourth tier: Non-preferred brand and generic drugs for which HealthTrans has negotiated a discount.

Be sure to use the Pharmacy Locator and Medication Pricing tools at http://cashcard.lc.healthtrans.com to find the pharmacies closest to you, as well as those that offer the lowest prices for your medications.

To save the most money, ask your doctor to prescribe a drug included in the first three tiers, if possible, or ask if you can Switch to a drug in those tiers. If you choose a higher priced Non-preferred drug, you will still receive it at a discounted Price.
